For our second camping trip, we crossed the border to Sweden and put up our tent by the bank of Lake Stora Bör in Grinsby family camping. The lake is popular for fishing, hiking, boating and bathing activities. There’s also an allocated beach for pet dogs. Camp Grinsby is located in Årjäng kommune and is owned by the Coppens family, who were also just guests in the camping place once.

It was a perfect summer day with blue skies and green surroundings.

The camping place is located about 2 kms from the main road (E18), so many parts of the path was not paved/concrete.

After paying at the reception, we went on and chose the perfect spot for our tent. There are designated spots for tents, and for motorhomes. I think they also have cabins, and spots for long-term stay. We put up our tent near the lake, with a pleasant view of the lake and its islets. Then, we relaxed for a bit.

Once relaxed, we went for a walk around the area, discovering beautiful spots and just enjoying Swedish nature at its finest.

Traditional outdoor latrines were maintained in the camping place, although in my opinion, they could put up modern, more hygienic ones. Like Norwegian outdoor toilets, pictures of the royal family are pasted on the wall. Well, they do have a building with modern toilets by the reception.

During our walk, we spotted some Canadian goose!

Just like the the first camping place we visited this year, this one also has a swing!

I think that Sandviken camping really set the standard high for this year, but Camp Grinsby also has its own little charm. I woke up once during the night to visit the loo, and voila! What beautiful dawn. A few hours later, we were cooking our traditional camping pancakes.

Spending summer weekends in this manner is really relaxing for me. I feel reflenished after every time. It was June when we visited the place, and at that time, I was stressed out by the delayed surgery and the waiting process for the results of my master’s thesis.

Anyway, on the way back, we stopped by to take a photo of these lovely invasive flowering plants! They’re growing rampant in summer, and although they are invasive, I find them beautiful and decorative!

And of course, the kitts got some pasalubong from our 1-night trip. 🙂 Fast forward to today, we didn’t get to go on more camping weekends this summer. We did go on a weekend trip again to Sweden in July, but we stayed warm in an old factory-turned-guesthouse.

Anyway, this is Camp Grinsby and Lake Stora Brö. #spreadloveandpositivevibes. ALL PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ON THIS BLOG ENTRY ARE MINE. 🙂 Cheers!
