1) IT-551825 My first postcard from Italy this 2020 comes from Nicoletta (such a nice name!). It shows the beautiful Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (Florence Cathedral), in the city of Firenza (or Florence) in central Italy, the capital of the Tuscany region. According to sources, it was built in 1296 in Gothic style designed by Arnolfo di Cambio, and was completed in 1436. The dome was engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi, and is the largest brick dome ever constructed. The exterior has polychrome marble panels in shades of pink and green, a facade in Gothic Revival designed by Emilio de Fabris. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Unfortunately, travel to Florence is still restricted to this day. Hopefully, we’ll visit this wonderful city in the future. Nice stamp used! ❤
