Gosh, I miss food courts in malls in PH. The smell of delicious foods, the happy smiles from the people ready to serve behind each booth, the bargain prices, the many customers! Good thing I’ve got some old photos from the mall visits I’ve had with my sisters and friends. Here are some taken at SM City Sta. Rosa, the first shopping mall franchise in Laguna.
We love spending, or killing, time in PH malls. Unlike shopping districts in EU, malls in PH also serve as attractions, offering entertainment and amusement indoors. Wanna escape the heat of the sun from outside the streets of PH? You get free air condition inside malls! 😉
SM Sta. Rosa is one of the many big SM malls all over PH, with 170,000 sq. m land area and 79, 325 sq. m floor area. Almost all major stores can be found here, and it also has a department store and a supermarket. Aside from the food court, one will find big fastfood chains here like Tokyo Tokyo, Jollibee and McDonalds.

In the middle of the mall is a 50 sq.m butterfly garden which contains about 20 species of butterfly. It also has some exotic plants and orchids. Entrance is affordable, but we are cheap. So go ahead and visit the garden, and then let me know how it was to be surrounded by colorful butterflies. 🙂

Tom’s World and Quantum offers entertainment and gaming activities in the mall. There are children’s rides, arcade shops, vending machines, and videoke rooms. The mall also has 4 state-of-the-art cinemas with more or less 2,000 seats.

And if you are not satisfied with the above-mentioned facilities, you can also watch events like concerts, contests, festivals, exhibits and celebrity mall tours in the lobby or at the mall’s front ground. Who says you need to have plenty of money to enjoy life? I love PH malls. 😉
