This is 2024’s first roadtrip! Yay! Carl and I seemed to be experiencing some bad juju’s during the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024. Nevertheless, we don’t give in. We wake up and enjoy the moments together and with our kitts. For our 7th wedding anniversary last January, we booked a weekend stay in Tyrifjord Hotell (or hotel). It is located in Vikersund, known for having the world’s biggest ski jump. As it was winter, we had a bright, snow-covered and sparkling surroundings.

The trip was short and easy, only about 50 minutes by car, so the kitts could tag along. Guests have to pay extra for furbabies. We left on Friday evening, and enjoyed a lovely dinner in the hotel’s restaurant.

The next day, we finally caught a glimpse of the view from the window. It was frozen Tyrifjord! The hotel faces said fjord. I thought that it was a lovely marina in winter – what more in summer? We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Then, we had to drive home to let the broker in. This is where the bad juju I was talking about comes in. We’ve been trying to sell the apartment since August 2023, and still no luck. I don’t really know who to blame (the broker said it was due to the bad economy, bad market, etc., but I felt like it was due to a really bad juju in that aspect in our lives).

Putting the juju’s aside, it was our anniversary, a feat, a milestone to celebrate! People talk about the 7th year itch in relationships, so we raised the glasses to not being part of that statistics!

Later during the day, we (finally) managed to visit the ski jumping center, or the Vikersund Hoppsenter. It is the world’s largest, with a height of 240 meters. It has hosted several ski jumping world championships, and on our visit, we saw some aspiring ski jumpers training. How cool 🙂

Afterwards, we tried to visit some church ruins (which was apaprently all buried in deep snow). So we just admired the snow-covered branches glistening in the sun! My heart was full ❤

In the evening, we crossed the bridge across the fjord. Vikersund is a small town in Modum kommune, with about 3,200 inhabitants. The city center has a train stop, some shops, restaurants, and shops. There were dozens of birds on the frozen river bank, and a veteran ship, the M/S Greven. It was a tugboat from the 1950’s. We could also see the Modum ski hill from afar.

The cold weather makes me easily tired, but spring is coming and I’m excited to see where our adventures would take us this year. 🙂 We spent the rest of the evening cuddled up in the hotel, enjoyed pizza, and watched the Madagascar animated movies.

Cheers from winterland Norway! ALL PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ON THIS BLOG ARE MINE.  🙂 #spreadloveandpositivevibes
